Surprising Myself

In the last year, I have found my spiritual way. For much of my adult life I lived with conservative values, religiously speaking. There were off days, off comments, mixed ideas and values that didn't seem to mix with others. I found that my desire to "color within the lines" only suppressed my musical spirit. The daily "discipline?" of submission to men, to authority, and to my own womanhood... made me tired. Not to mention disappointed in the entire system. It wasn't until I decided to balance my faith as much in community as out. To start thinking for myself and risking decisions that didn't fall within the conservative mainstream. My career, like many others, falls within a "Good Ol'Boy's Club" mentality and I was getting nowhere with it. It wasn't until I explored the idea of EQUALITY among human beings, SOCIAL JUSTICE and LISTENING to those less fortunate then me. And face it, I am extremely blessed with a job, gifts and health alone.

After a while, I began surprising myself. My career lept out of the Club and onto my own path. A Path with God, uncluttered by the "voices" from the shoulds and shouldn'ts in my career. This strength built confidence and bled into my dating life. After a while I was watching sports, talking about progressive faith issues and exploring the EMERGING CHURCH.

Take a step, if you think you would like... you may surprise yourself.
As one of my favorite poet's says: "Everything is Waiting for You."
