Girl of Faith.... hold on!

I have written about singleness and could very well write about marriage (for I was married during my early 20's). But what I find myself writing about tonight is the amazing variety of characters on the web who are looking for a date, just like me. Putting yourself out there is a real walk of faith, especially when a man who thinks he has "something going" sends me an email with the following truths:
- To answer "where he would like to have a first date," he said, "Where else but the most austere of romantic rendezvous: the Waffle House." And to a question that asked "where he has traveled," he wrote, "I was born in Baton Rouge, LA. I've seen about 1/4 of the world. My idea of adventure: dodging that big fat guy (6' 3"; 550 lbs.) who didn't take well to my joke about his purple earring not matching his Bermuda shorts..."
Now before you put me in the insensitive or rude list, let me clarify. When it comes to finding a mate and distinguishing God's best for your life.... you have to rely on wisdom. I am not thinking that "Mr.Wafflehouse" is the "One!" But you know.... he is God's best. In his profile, he went on to quote Proverbs 3:5-6 and elaborate on his walk with God. He is a child of God and he is a glimpse into an Image of God that we might not pay too much attention to.
Pause for a moment and decide what "image" of God you are expressing in your emails, voice mails and dating profiles. You may not be a "Mr.Wafflehouse" but you may not be everything that God wants or expects you to be. Be your best... Honor yourself... Be yourself!
