This evening I spent time with 5 awesome, single women. Our hostess cooked Cuban food and we enjoyed so much insight on being single. Things like how we enjoy our lives, careers, families, and each other. We all agreed, we wonder about married life, i.e. coming home to a partner, having someone to talk to about deep or shallow topics, a person to share some of the burden with and ultimately - someone who is committed to love you and work together. It is our charge and question to married folks.... do you think about what it is to be single? Not just the blanket idea that we are "free" because we are single. Even though we are not married to a man, we do have commitments and responsibilities as adults. We would like to know if you think about the aspect of coming home to an empty house or apartment, the task of remaining pure in relationship with the opposite sex and knowing that we can only go so far with our girlfriends in a deep conversation before we become an imposition. There are pros and cons to both and it is where we find ourselves. Each day we wake up ready to trust God for another day of "daily bread" and love.... and I imagine our married friends do too.

This could be the beginning of a nice lecture/sermon. I love that we wrote about the same event and your take is so soft and sophisticated.
