My last blog post, I feel, might have been so introspective that it lacked any real point. That is why I feel like I need to be more clear with this post. With that disclaimer, I begin today's post.
As I view the world from the "other side," the not-totally-single, not really married place in my life, I must seek wisdom from one of my favorite Ashram's.... Barnes and Noble. I walked slowly down the "relationship" isle looking for a catchy title to easy some fear and question. I found it in a book titled, "Before you say, I Do." With a simple cup of coffee and a small brownie with sprinkles, I dove into the text. My search this evening was for a rightful place in an engaged, committed relationship. Do I continue to allow a masculine man to pursue me? How do I make my needs known without sounding "bitchy" (pardon the bluntness)? And finally, what are my "rights" in the relationship? After reading most of the book over a two hour period, here is my conclusion. MARRIAGE IS GOING TO HAPPEN. HE REALLY LOVES YOU AND CHERISHES YOU. ENJOY THE RIDE FOR A WHILE. REMAIN FEMININE AND MAKE YOUR NEEDS KNOWN. FINALLY, LET HIM BE THE MAN AND ENJOY BEING THE WOMAN. THIS IS WHY YOU LOVE HIM. THIS IS HOW GOD LED YOU TO HIM. LET GOD CONTINUE THE GOOD WORK HE HAS STARTED.
