It's true, we are beginning to see movies that enlist a chunky, not so good-looking, funny guy who gets the very attractive girl. This is not the kind of movie I am talking about. The ones I mean are black-n-white with young starlets who have penciled-in eyebrows. Or the romantic "chic flicks" with the woman who wears just a bit of make-up and looks beautifully tossed after a long night of sleep. These are the movies that deepen our desire for romance and love. They must be getting their point across because we believe romance and love looks similar. But I have recently had my eyes gently opened (yet again) by Knitting Grace, who has experienced the real thing. With this, I begin my blog:
A quick view at the real thing: Issue #1 - Gifts! Gifts are not the evidence of love. In fact, according to Knitting, if you get a gift from your beau, it may be last minute, contain artificial flavor and color and purchased at the 7-11 just 10 minutes earlier. If this is your gift, this is your gift but not the one in the movies. Then Knitting concluded with a question, she asked, "do you want a great gift or the love of your life to walk with you through the Narthex after church......?" With that, I smiled.
