This morning I needed to call about the deposit of rent to a Lessee of mine. Remember, my blog name is "MetroPrairie" because I live in the city but own farm land. Anyway, I got support from my husband and my brother and was still anxious about the call. The only thing left was liquid courage and it was too early in the morning for that. So, I called my friend KnittingGrace. She gave me two Jesus reasons before I called this guy.
1) Jesus created boundaries to give us direction in our lives. The Law he proclaimed was "Love," but a love that helps people stay accountable and encourages them to participate responsibly in society.
2) We can't think that just because we feel a guilt about the rent being late, others do too. When Jesus told the Rich Young Man to leave behind his life and follow him, the man was sad, but not repentant enough to care or do something about it. There are cases where people are looking to get away with things, again, Boundaries.
Thanks to all my support. In this case the relationship I have with this guy is business.
All this to say, if you have a tough choice or conflict to resolve, see it as Jesus does; get some perspective and then go knock down some tables!
