Woman with Farm...

I was at B&N this evening to sample the new CD's everyone is talking about; musicians like, Jack Johnson, David Gray, Jill Scott, Sheryl Crow and the sound track to "Once."
They were really good... but not enough, as Knitting Grace says, "to blow my dress up." So, I praised God for good music and the will to push passed the urge to buy.
I left the security bound music section and began to walk to the "Christian" book section. On the way, I was stopped by the Astronomy shelves charmed by its offering, possibly a force from the universe. I gave into reading a few pages in a colorful book. It explained who I was based on my birth-day. Once again, no buy!
On to the commercial, I mean Christian section. This night, no one else was perusing so I glanced over....(christian fiction... inspiration....dating....st.teresa....n.t.wright....charles spurgeon...)....Oh! "Adventures in Missing the Point," by Brian McLaren & Tony Campolo – cool. I am studying modern and post-modern reality in an effort to create a better system of evangelism for myself. This should be a great book.
As I leave, I rewind my experience by walking through all the sections I have seen and judged.... (new paperbacks - "Are You there God, its me, Kevin!" - looks kind of good....valentine gifts that make me strangely unattached or committed to an approaching holiday...and the exit.)
Not to be forgotten, the last-ditch-books in the breeze way.... "Woman with Farm seeking Man with Tractor" - really?
