Kingdom of God

I am currently taking a seminary class about Evangelism. It is a huge topic with many theological, practical and personal openings for all of our opinions. We are pondering questions like, how do we evangelize the culture at large? How would I approach a non-believer when they are in the middle of a life crisis? And, what does evangelism have to do with the Kingdom of God?

All week I thought about the beautiful possibility that God's Kingdom is here around us - now! Some of my friends would say, "well of course it is." Other people would say that it is only partially here and we are awaiting Christ's return for its fulfillment. And some friends might look at me strangely, wondering what I mean when I talk about the Kingdom of God and why the topic would even come up.

It is my belief that the Kingdom is here and will be fulfilled at Christ's return. It is my pleasure to enjoy God's presence each day and live out my life in His Kingdom. And it is my "cross" to find a way to tell others about this joy and why I would even think to talk about it.

good thoughts... challenging to think about too. i continue to think about how the little decisions i make each day are either in obedience or defiance to the king, how what i do contributes to or detracts from the growth of that kingdom.

You both are so deep. I'm thinking about how my clock doesn't strike while you're thinking about the kingdom of God. It's a good thing I have you to challenge me!
